Kakina
Incorporated in 1991, Kakina Economic Development Group was formed to provide a wide range of advisory services to promote, plan and assist in the implementation of economic development activities that support economic activity for our Member First Nations, including:
- Promote and advance the economic and social welfare of the Bimose Member First Nations
- Provide support for recognized benevolent and charitable enterprises, federations, agencies and societies engaged with assisting the development, both economic and social, of the Bimose Member First Nations
- To undertake the above objects in a manner consistent with the First Nation philosophy of self-reliance, independence and self-determination
- To do all acts and things as may be deemed necessary or incidental to the achievement of the above objects.
In 2016, our Member First Nations provided direction to form a for-profit business structure utilizing a Limited Partnership (LP) and General Partnership (GP) to begin taking advantage of opportunities for our membership.
The LP formed to make investments in and undertake the business, ownership, operation and lease of assets and property in connection with business ventures and all activities ancillary and/or incidental thereto.
